Introduction

The mystic is a third type of character. Heroes use tools. Wizards use spells. The mystic is a hybrid that lets you create cleric-type characters.

Mystic Talents

Mystics may choose any talent on the Mystic talent list at normal cost. Any other talent costs double.

Mystic Powers

A mystic’s powers cost no fatigue points to use. The mystic channels the necessary energy from nature, his gods or other spiritual planes. Powers that have a (C) notation are automatically powered at all times. Powers with a (D) notation have a duration listed after the D. Powers that have restrictions on the number of times they can be used have a (U#) notation, where # is the number of times per day the power can be used. Each Mystic power costs 1 IQ point to learn.

IQ 8 Powers

Pain Block (C)

Allows a mystic to ignore pain. The mystic can ignore the -2 DX modifier for taking more than 5 points of damage in a round. He only suffers a -2 DX if he takes 8 or more points in a single blow. He will fall down if he takes 10 or more points of damage in a single blow. A mystic with pain block cannot be tortured into revealing information and can perform simple tricks like putting his hand in a fire. Although the mystic can ignore pain, any damage caused is suffered like normal.

Barkskin (C)

A mystic with barkskin will stop one point of damage from any attack.

IQ 9 Powers

Great Blow (U3)

The mystic channels his essence into a single powerful blow and smashes his fist or foot into his foe. This power adds 2d6 to the damage of any single attack with bare hands or bare feet. It can be combined with Unarmed Combat.

Heal Self (U3)

The mystic uses his superior control over his body to heal his injuries. He will heal 2 points of damage to himself after a fight. This process works like a Physicker’s ability, except that the mystic only takes a minute to heal himself. This power can only be used once after a given attack.
